Parsahutaon adalah sebuah wadah pertemuan yang diadakan oleh penduduk Suku Batak yang melakukan pertemuan ini secara rutin. Suku Batak Karo terkenal dengan persatuan dan solidaritas nya yang tinggi yang menarik perhatian peneliti untuk melakukan kajian Etnografi Komunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pola komunikasi antar peserta dalam perkumpulan Parsahutaon. Objek penelitian adalah kelompok etnis batak perkumpulan Parsahutaon. Data diambil dari metode Catat dan Rekam, untuk menjelaskan penelitian secara terperinci peneliti menggunakan metode SPEAKING yang dikemukakan oleh Dell Hymes (1972). Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan berbagai macam pola komunikasi dipengaruhi oleh beberapa macam faktor terutama usia yang menjadi sebuah penghalang bagi para orang yang lebih tua untuk berkomunikasi dengan bahasa Batak.
