Kata-Kata Tabu Bahasa Madura: Strategi Komunikasi Khas Madura

Beragam kata dan ungkapan yang digunakan seseorang di dalam berkomunikasi satu dengan yang lain, beragam cara yang mereka gunakan untuk mengungkapkan rasa maupun maksud yang mereka rasakan ketika berkomunikasi satu dengan yang lain. Kata maupun ungkapan tabu menjadi salah satu pilihan unik yang sering digunakan ketika mereka berkomunikasi. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian etnolinguistik yang bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menginterpretasikan bentuk, makna, dan penggunaan kata-kata tabu yang digunakan pada aktivitas sehari-hari oleh masyarakat Madura di Desa Liprak Wetan Kecamatan Banyuanyar Kabupaten Probolinggo. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa sekelompok kata yang dianggap tabu sesuai adat kebiasaan masyarakat sekitar. Data tersebut dikumpulkan melalui metode simak catat dan dilengkapi dengan penggunaan intuisi kebahasaan penulis. Ada beberapa kata yang digunakan masyarakat Liprak Wetan dalam komunikasi sehari-hari. Kata tabu tersebut digolongkan menjadi beberapa bagian, yaitu: kata tabu yang berhubungan dengan binatang, anggota tubuh manusia, seks, agama, kematian, dan ekskresi. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan tujuh kata yang berhubungan dengan anggota tubuh manusia, lima kata yang berhungan dengan binatang, tujuh kata yang berhubungan dengan seks
