Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi penerjemahan metafora dari bahasa Prancis ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dalam novel Candide ou l’optimisme karya Voltaire. Fokus utama penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi strategi penerjemahan yang digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan metafora. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik analisis data berdasarkan teori penerjemahan metafora oleh Larson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerjemah menggunakan berbagai strategi, seperti penerjemahan metafora ke metafora dengan citra yang sama, metafora ke metafora dengan citra yang berbeda, metafora ke simile dan metafora ke ungkapan non-figuratif. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan mengenai tantangan dan kompleksitas dalam menerjemahkan metafora, serta kontribusi teoritis dan praktis bagi studi penerjemahan sastra.
