Bahasa dan Identitas Budaya: Studi Etnolinguistik pada Komunitas Osing di Daerah Macan Putih, Banyuwangi

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara bahasa Osing dan identitas budaya masyarakat Osing di Macam Putih, Banyuwangi serta memahami bagaimana bahasa Osing mencerminkan nilai-nilai budaya, tradisi, dan identitas masyarakat Osing serta bagaimana komunitas ini menghadapi tantangan modernisasi. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian etnolinguistik untuk menganalisis hubungan antara bahasa, budaya, dan pola pikir masyarakat. Data deskriptif berupa kata-kata, ungkapan, dan wacana budaya yang dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi langsung. Informan penelitian adalah anggota komunitas dan masyarakat di Desa Macan Putih yang memiliki relevansi sosial, budaya, dan ekonomi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung terhadap aktivitas, interaksi, dan penggunaan bahasa dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, yang memberikan pemahaman otentik tentang konteks sosial dan budaya masyarakat. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang melibatkan tiga tahap: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahasa Osing berperan penting dalam membentuk dan mempertahankan identitas budaya masyarakat Osing di Macam Putih. Bahasa ini mencerminkan nilai-nilai budaya, tradisi, serta sistem sosial yang unik. Namun, tantangan modernisasi membawa ancaman terhadap keberlanjutan bahasa ini, terutama di kalangan generasi muda. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya lebih lanjut dalam pendidikan, dokumentasi, dan penguatan komunitas untuk menjaga eksistensi bahasa Osing di masa depan.
