Makna Simbolik dalam Folklor Nusantara: Studi Semiotika pada Tradisi Rudat di Daerah Karangasem-Bali

Penelitian ini mengkaji peran tradisi Rudat di Karangasem, Bali, sebagai bentuk resistensi budaya terhadap globalisasi dan homogenisasi budaya. Rudat, seni tari tradisional bernuansa Islam, tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan tetapi juga sebagai simbol perlawanan terhadap dominasi budaya asing yang mengancam identitas lokal. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna dibalik simbol-simbol tari tradisional yang jarang sekali mendapat perhatian halayak umum . Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode semiotika kultural, penelitian ini menganalisis data dari wawancara mendalam dengan tokoh masyarakat, pimpinan dan pemain Rudat, serta melalui observasi langsung dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa elemen-elemen dalam Rudat, seperti gerakan, musik, kostum, dan atribut, memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga nilai tradisional. Wawancara dengan tokoh seni dan masyarakat mengungkapkan bahwa Rudat tidak hanya memperkuat identitas komunitas Karangasem, tetapi juga menjadi alat perlawanan terhadap pengaruh budaya luar yang bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai lokal. Selain itu, Rudat berfungsi sebagai sarana edukasi dan sosialisasi nilai moral serta spiritual, yang membantu memperkuat kohesi sosial. Dengan demikian, Rudat bukan sekadar warisan budaya yang perlu dilestarikan, tetapi juga menjadi alat penting dalam mempertahankan identitas budaya lokal di tengah derasnya arus modernisasi dan globalisasi.
