Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Stad dengan Menggunakan Alat Peraga untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa

Masalah yang diangkat dalam riset ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis murid yang berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar mereka dalam mata pelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan guna menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sesudah diterapkannya model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan memanfaatkan alat peraga dalam topik kubus dan balok di kelas VIII MTs Negeri 1 Binjai. Riset dilakukan dalam bentuk Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) di MTs Negeri 1 Binjai selama sekitar satu bulan, mulai 5 Mei hingga 6 Juni 2024. Subjek penelitian ialah siswa kelas VIII-2 sebanyak 32 orang dengan data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Riset ini terdiri atas dua siklus yang mencakup tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Study Team Achievement Division (STAD) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Pada siklus I, persentase siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar adalah 40,625%, menunjukkan hasil belajar yang masih rendah. Namun, pada siklus II, persentase ketuntasan meningkat signifikan menjadi 87,5%, dengan hasil belajar telah memenuhi KKM sebesar 70. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan alat peraga efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika.
