OBSERVASI PENGGUNAAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI DI SMA NEGERI 2 PALOPO

Penlitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ragam media yang digunakan guru mata pelajaran biologi di SMA Negeri 2 Palopo dan mengetahui kendala-kendala guru dalam menyiapkan dan menggunakan media pembelajaran biologi di SMA Negeri 2 Palopo. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi. Observasi yang dimaksud adalah observasi terhadap guru mata pelajaran biologi melalui wawancara unuk mendapatkan informasi kendala guru dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran. Observasi selanjutnya dilakukan pada siswa melalui pengisisan angket yang telah disediakan oleh peneliti untuk mendapatkan informasi ragam media pembelajaran biologi yang digunakan oleh guru selama proses pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data hasil observasi dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif, hasil wawancara dan angket yang dibagikan kepada siswa diintrerretasikan oleh peneliti secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa salah satu kendala guru mata pelajaran biologi dalam penggunaan media selama proses pembelajaran adalah menjaga fokus siswa, karena siswa cenderung hanya tertarik pada gambar dan videonya saja sedangkan jika yang ditampilkan melalui media itu berupa tulisan fokus siswa akan berkurang. Adapun ragam media yang digunakan guru mata pelajaran biologi berdasarkan hasil angket yang dibagikan sangat bervariatif, diantaranya media gambar, alat peraga, demonstrasi, video, dan power point. Salah satu media yang menjadi fokus penelitian tidak mendapatkan respon positif dari responden adalah media audio.
