Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi fungsi tindak tutur dalam komunikasi bisnis di masyarakat Batak Toba. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif yang berusaha memahami fenomena tuturan pada kegiatan jual-beli dalam proses bertutur di masyarakat tutur. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah naturalistik yang berlandaskan pada sosiopragmatik. Sumber data penelitian praktik tuturan nonformal yang terjadi dalam interaksi jual-beli antara penutur dan mitra tutur menggunakan bahasa Batak Toba. Data penelitian berupa tuturan dalam interaksi jual beli di masyarakat Batak Toba menggunakan bahasa Batak Toba berdasarkan fungsi tindak tutur. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan fungsi tindak tutur, yakni: asertif, direktif, komisif, deklaratif, ekspresif. Tindak tutur asertif dan ekspresif paling sering digunakan masyarakat Batak Toba dalam bertutur. Berdasarkan data yang sudah diklasifikasi dan di kodefikasi serta di data menggunakan bagan dan diagram, kelima fungsi tindak tutur terpenuhi dalam dialog interaksi jual beli masyarakat Batak Toba. Penelitian ini berkontribusi bagi para pembaca yang ingin tetap melestarikan tuturan bahasa Batak Toba asli dan bagi para pelajar sebagai bahan refrensi tugas.
