Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pre-experimenal design yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode debat terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Toraja Utara. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah metode debat dan variabel terikat adalah kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa jurusan IPA kelas X SMAN 1 Toraja Utara sebanyak 2 kelas sedangkan sampel penelitian adalah kelas X IPA 1 dengan jumlah siswa 27 orang siswa. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dari hasil pre-test dan post-test pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi. Teknik analisis data yaitu dengan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode debat berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi siswa kelas X SMAN 6 Toraja Utara. Hal ini, dapat dibuktikan, berdasarkan perbandingan nilai t^hitung dan t^tabel = 11,301>1,701.
