ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL MATRIKS PADA KELAS XI SMA

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa kelas XI SMA dalam menyelesaikan soal matriks. Subjek penelitian 3 orang yang dipilih berdasarkan tingkat kemampuannya dan yang melakukan kesalahan paling banyak pada tes diagnostik kesalahan. Lembar tes kemampuan matematika, lembar tes diagnostik kesalahan, serta pedomana wawancara merupakan instrumen dalam penelitian ini. Tes diagnostik memuat tes yang berkaitan transpose, kesamaan dua matriks, perkalian dua buah matriks, prinsip atau sifat-sifat matriks (perkalian skalar, pengurangan, perkalian, determinan, invers matriks), serta operasi-operasi pada matriks. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes dan wawancara tidak terstruktur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (a) Subjek Tinggi melakukan kesalahan konsep perkalian matriks dan tidak melakukan kesalahan prinsip. Kesalahan operasi pada soal perkalian skalar, pengurangan, kesamaan matriks, perkalian matriks, determinan, dan invers matriks yang disebabkan kekurang telitian dalam melakukan perhitungan; (b) Subjek Sedang melakukan kesalahan konsep transpose, kesamaan dua matriks, serta perkalian matriks. Kesalahan prinsip terjadi terkait materi perkalian dan invers matriks. Kesalahan operasi pada soal transpose, perkalian skalar, pengurangan, perkalian, serta invers matriks; (c) Subjek Rendah melakukan kesalahan konsep transpose, kesamaan matriks, serta perkalian matriks. Kesalahan prinsip pada soal perkalian skalar, pengurangan, perkalian matriks, determinan, serta invers matriks. Kesalahan operasi terjadi pada semua soal.
